Britney Spears CDs

Reviewed by P. Perkins: I picked this up because, first, Amazon had the mp3 on sale for real cheap, and second, Richard Thomson once did a brilliant solo acoustic cover of "Did It Again" in an interview I heard. Mostly when the name came up around me it was someone citing her career as somehow being example number 1 of what was wrong with the music biz. What I hear in these songs is that a lot of time and talent went into the sound, the production if you will. It's really smooth and has a lot of interesting musical bits all fit together perfectly. It's only in the few slow numbers where things break down for me, like it's trying to make me think it's gotten all moody and confessional and I don't believe it for a moment. But the next song will be another celebration of dancing and flirting and making out and we can forget about all those troublesome real feelings again, and surely there is a time and place for that.

Reviewed by My Doll Cabinet: These was my very first Britney Spears CDs and now I have so many more. This is kinda special and it was my very first of hers. At first I was skeptical of purchasing this set because I didn't know if I should get "... Baby One More Time" first because of the album and the liner notes but Im overall happy I purchased this one because I got her first three albums in one case. This a great starter set to get to know Britney's music in my opinion and I highly recommend it.

Overprotected: 5/5, I prefer the Darkchild remix, but the original is still great!
Lonely: 5/5, The beat is great, and I like the lyrics, too.
I'm Not A Girl, Not Yet A Woman: 5/5, A great song everyone can relate too.
Boys: 4/5, Great dance song, but I prefer the Co-Ed remix.
Anticipating: 4/5, I love the beat, and I don't mind the cheesy lyrics.
I Love Rock N Roll: 5/5, I love her cover! I like that she made it a pop song, rather than singing it like the original.
Cinderella: 4/5, I love the beat, but the song feels like it is lacking something.
Let Me Be: 4/5, Okay song. The lyrics and beat are good, but I feel like it is missing something.
Bombastic Love: 4/5, Good song, but not a standout track.
That's Where You Take Me: 5/5, Beautiful song!
What It's Like To Be Me: 5/5, I love this song! I wish this would've been released as a single.

Bonus Tracks:
When I Found You: 5/5, One of my favorite Britney songs! I'm not sure what it is, but I love this song.
I Run Away: 5/5, Beautiful song with heartbreaking lyrics.
Before The Goodbye: 5/5, I love the beat! I also love how she fast talks some of the lyrics, but also belts in the chorus and pre-chorus.
